Uratex Supports Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation’s Basic Upholstery Program

Uratex supported the commencement of the Basic Upholstery Program of Pampanga Furniture Industries Foundation (PFIF) together with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and Don Honorio Ventura Technological State University (DHVTSU) to develop skilled workers in upholstery.

The four-week training set was held last May 20-Jun 17, 2019, at the PFIF Training Center in Mabalacat Pampanga. The attendees, mostly locals, were trained to equip themselves with all the necessary upholstery skills by following a program comprised of technical discussions and classifications of foam and its uses.

Uratex has been supporting the PFIF’s initiative since its first implementation. Ms. Belen Absalon, Uratex Research and Development Manager and Foaming Expert, imparted the company’s expertise by tackling the importance of a good foam and producing quality and durable sofa. Aside from sharing industry knowledge, Uratex also sponsored all the foam required and used for the training. Through this, the participants were able to understand the different foam properties and their implications.

In partnership with DOST and the local government units and made possible by Uratex, this project hopes to be able to strengthen the Upholstery Industry for the benefit of both the business and well-being of the communities involved.
