Uratex-EHAP 2nd Philippine Housekeeping 2022 Bed Making Competition

Uratex for Business, in collaboration with the Executive Housekeepers Association of the Philippines (EHAP), proudly hosted the much-awaited Uratex-EHAP 2nd Philippine Housekeeping 2022 Bed Making Competition on September 20, 2022, at Ronac Living Gallery, Mandaluyong City. This event, held during International Housekeepers Month, marked the exciting return of the competition after a 3-year hiatus due to the pandemic.

Originally launched in 2019, the Bed Making Competition is a vital platform for showcasing the skills and creativity of Filipino housekeepers. The competition’s return highlights the resilience of the hospitality industry, which has steadily recovered and adapted to the new normal.

The event was inaugurated with heartfelt remarks from Ms. Peachy C. Medina, Managing Director of Uratex, and Ms. Gina Anabo, President of EHAP, both of whom emphasized the crucial role housekeeping plays in delivering exceptional guest experiences.

This year, the competition welcomed 12 hotel participants from a diverse range of establishments, including hotels, resorts, and serviced residences. Two categories were featured:

Category A: Thematic Bed Set-Up, with the theme "How will you present the bed in an elegant and classy style during the new normal?"
Category B: Turn Down Bed Set-Up

Champion – Mr. Joseph Correa (Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams Manila)
2nd Place – Mr. Jonel Guiwan (Diamond Hotel Philippines)
3rd Place – Mr. John Christopher Martinez (Twin Lakes Hotel)

Category B: Turn Down Bed Set-Up
Champion – Nurture Wellness Village
2nd Place – Nobu Hotel, City of Dreams Manila
3rd Place – Edsa Shangri-La, Manila
