Back by Industry Demand: Uratex and EHAP Partnered for the Most Anticipated Housekeeping Competition of the Year

Uratex for Business, together with the Executive Housekeepers Association of the Philippines (EHAP), partnered once again to bring back the most sought-after housekeeping competition in the industry, the URATEX-EHAP 2nd Philippine Housekeeping 2022 Bed Making Competition, held at Ronac Living Gallery, Mandaluyong City last September 20, 2022, in time for International Housekeepers Month.

The first Bed Making Competition started in the year 2019, and was halted for 3 years due to the pandemic which greatly affected the Tourism and Hospitality industry worldwide. After years of continuous adjustments to the new normal, the industry is back with revenge, and signaled the return of different housekeeping activities including the much-awaited bed making competition which aimed to showcase the distinct style, showmanship, and talents of our Filipino housekeepers, one of the heroes of the Philippine Hospitality Industry.

This joyous event kicked off with an inspiring start as Ms. Peachy C. Medina, Managing Director of Uratex, and Ms. Gina Anabo, EHAP’s President, gave their opening remarks and evoked the importance of recognizing the importance of housekeeping in creating the best hospitality experience.

The competition was open to all regular housekeeping employees of the official EHAP member establishments that fall under the category of hotels, resorts, serviced residences, and condotels. There were two categories: the Category A: Thematic Bed Set-up with the theme “How will you present the bed in an elegant and classy style during the new normal?”; and the Category B, the Turn Down Bed Set-Up. The 12 hotel participants were: Aloha Hotel, Diamond Hotel, Edsa Shangri-la Manila, Linden Suites, Luxent Hotel, Marco Polo Ortigas, Midas Hotel and Casino, Nobu Hotel, Nurture Wellness Village, Nüwa Hotel, Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila, and Twin Lakes Hotel. The winners of this year’s competition are the following:
